Town of Smithtown, NY Pulls 5700K, Installs 2200K LED Streetlights in all its 13,000 Luminaires

                                           



After 2 decades, Town of Smithtown streetlights are way too bright and can cause damage. So Smithtown will take out 13,000 5,700K LED streetlights and install 13,000 2,200K LED streetlights which are dark-sky friendly. The manufacturers Smithtown is choosing are now Signify (Cooper) and Acuity. The products are Autobahns ATBMicro, ATB0 & ATB2 and Archeon streetlights. The Supervisor said these dark-sky friendly lights can help people sleep better, rather than cool white and warm white is so much better.

As the village mayor Maureen O'Connell announced the latest village in Nassau County to switch to LED streetlights, the streetlight will soon save up to $400 over 20 years. The Village of Floral Park completed Acuity Autobahn LED streetlights in December 2021, which is also part of RealTerm Energy and all of the lights will be 2200K CCT, which is extremely warmer than 4000K CCT. Once completed, LEDs will have better light and technology.
